MNR on track :)

finally getting to grips with my ZZR1400 powered Vortx Super R.

took my first class victory in the car with a very respectable 3rd fastest road car behind a V6 Dax with 300bhp+ and a Westfield with 270bhp, both with traction control. Managed 92mph through the speed trap which is just before the start line.

Great day and if I could just get off the line it could have taken the class record - only needed 0.32 of a second. Good moment at 1:24 in the clip with some lift off oversteer.

Cheers

It sure grips a bit doesn't it! That is one quick car through the corners!

Nice driving.

road legal ACB10 tyres would love to try some really soft slicks

Going to get the car cornerweighted and suspesion setup before the next event so hopefully a little bit more to come.

The ZZR1400 really is a fantastic engine now that I have it revving properly.

sorry for the dreamer reply, but having driven other kits (i guess you have?) how far in % terms is a standard bec from that level of cornering and acceleration?

I guess a lot is down to the driver, but putting that to one side and talking about capabilities.

I previously ran a Westfield SEW (heavy compared to the newer cars) with a Fireblade 919 engine and English diff. It still holds the record at Boyndie on the North East coast of Scotland and was no slouch, but was 10mph slower on some of the straights against modern Busa's Westfields.

The new car is significantly quicker but as with every car takes time to get dialed in, the ZZR1400 is a big change in terms of power and torque with 160+bhp at the rear wheels and over 100lbs/ft torque. The handling is definitely more progressive than the old car and front end is definately plated. Tyres also make a huge difference but I wouldnt want to run the ACB10s on the road as they tramline like a *&*&*^&*.

My times as a comparison are here - http://ninjabogey.wordpress.com/circuit-times-and-information/

So to answer your question I should be about 1.5 seconds faster for every 30 seconds running in the new car on very tight and twisty tracks.

I hope this helps?

yeah great thanks.

I'm not thinking of racing or anything, its just been so long since I've been out in a bec that I'm trying to get my head round the performance I'm going to getting my hands on in the next few weeks/months.

Certainly enough to get the pulse racing with only a 5% difference between what I'll be driving and that video.

Shame that the driver will be 100% slower!!

sorry mate, didnt see it. Just read it now.

I blew the my sensor as the input voltage was too high. The clocks have some sort of voltage regulator built in.

Give it a try, as soon as you do a few yards with the sensor in place it should rev above 10500.... if not get your meter out and look for a voltage output of around 5v when the sensor is 1mm away from an earth on the car.

Any problem drop me a line. will pm my email to you

Paul

Hanging onto 3rd for the right hander after the big hairpin at the paddock end really does keep the speed up I see.
The positioning of the finish line really keeps the speed up for the blast to the finish as well.

Great run

cheers mate - the extra torque in the 14 makes the car very unsettled if you try to take it in 2nd gear...

first run (apart from the start) that I am actually happy with.

Les put in a new class record in A6 with an 83 with 98mph through the speed trap. A black DJ Firehaw was only getting 101mph...

Great day. Roll on Golspie, Boyndie, Forrestburn... Scotland really has some great sprints and hills

Aye, but Les is mental though...
He's much quicker than his wee cousin that Athoirs bloke

Les is mental, but I am catching him now. Only a second behind at Kames, but the torque out of the hairpin is awesome to watch...

Be good to see Andy out on track. Shame his rebuild is running behind schedule
