MK Indy/Pinto/Type 9 Prop length?
L&G,
Researching possible retrofit of Type 9 in place of A4LD autobox...
Can anyone tell me the length of the propshaft for a regular MK Indy + 2L Pinto + Type 9/N (five speed) + 7" diff installation, please.
Either:
- between UJ yoke axes front and back or
- from back end of gearbox tailhousing to the front face of the diff flange (I think this is 24" in my setup).
The autobox is about 3" longer than Type 9; if I use my existing prop then the gearlever conflicts with the X-member, the engine and box mounts
need to be moved, rad hoses reworked and the bonnet gets more hacking for the exhaust.
If I use a 3" longer prop I only need to move the g/box mount.
So no contest - just need 'standard' prop length, please.
Thanks,
John.
BTW, A4LD weighs 67 kg or 147 lbs (about the same as a complete Fireblade eng + box complete! )
He's whittling on a piece of wood. I got a feeling that when he stops whittling, something's gonna happen. (OUATITW/Cheyenne)
