5PW R1 thermostat housing
Hi all,
I have a 2003 5PW R1 engine going into my MNR. I have been told that I can use a later R1 thermostat outlet housing so that the outlet pipe is
directed more inside the engine bay.
If anyone has done this could you let me know either the year/model R1 it comes from or the actual part number?
Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark
I have the same engine in the same car what i have done is remove housing knock out the tube drill and tapped out the hole to 1/8 BPS and fitted a
metal 90 degree stem adaptor and pointed rearward it in the direction of the scuttle.

Sorry I haven't replied to this thread for ages but I've almost got round to wanting to do this.
Does anyone have the part number of the housing that I need to use?

I'm good to go, unless something major prevents me.
SHould be arriving late pm sat (if we are allowed in that is) in my tin top and not the blue big foot.
Time for a change!
