front end suspension setting advice needed please
i am purchasing a gunson trackrite wheel alignment gauge to set the car up properly next week so;
1; what is a standard ride height at the front end? or is it dependant on wheel size?
2; how do i set in board shocks correctly to correct height (do i adjust ride height with shocks or pushrods)? and how many clicks from full clockwise
on dampers?
3;am i right in thinking the rear needs to be about 25mm higher than the front?
4; whats the optimum toe in and camber on front wheels?
5;whats the optimum set up for the rear track, toe and camber?
thanks for any help!

make sure you have the push rods long enough to allow some droop on the front wheels, i started out with the pushrods too short, got the ride hight
correct, but if i jacked the car up the wheels were off the ground in the first 20mm and it felt like the front was really hard, extend the pushrods
and wind the spring seats down to get back to the same ride hight. i think i went for 100mm front and 130 rear ride hight. i've got a note of
the pushrod length at home, but it depends which way up you have your lower wishbones

surely if you have the wisbone the wrong way up then the outer ball joint will rip the c clip out and fall to bitts ???

I think mine was built about the time there was some issues over which side the circlip should go on but it's 3 years ago now i think.
Dan i forgot to check for you last night but i'll get on to it when i get in tonight

the wishbones can only go one way uo as the circlip would be holding up the front end and fall to bits

my push rods are 445mm long but the mountings are on top of the wishbone (but the circlip is on the bottom of the wishbone)measured at the position
of the front of the front wishbone i've got 100mm ground clearance. However the thing that made a big difference to how it handled was making
sure it had plenty of droop. so when i jack it up till the front wheel just leaves the ground the same point at the front of the front wishbone is
150mm from the ground. I'm not going to say this is right it's not been setup by a pro but it works for me
