Sump problems

Hi,
Im struggling with my pinto sump. As far as i can tell its a standard non shortened sump as i cant see any welds or joins. The problem i am having is when i fit the sump it hits the pick up pipe. Could it possibly be a rs2000 pickup pipe? Its a real strange one! Any ideas?

Is it the standard Pinto sump or the RS2000 alloy sump?
You sure that the pick up pipe isnt bent/ fitted incorrectly?

Mark.

The sump is a standard pinto item by the looks of it and not a rs2000 one. How much clearance should there be between the sump and the pickup? You cannot bolt the sump down as the pick up pipe hits the top of it!

Did the Pinto sump come as a front well and a rear well depending on what it was fitted to??

Could it possibly be a 1600 pickup pipe as these are bigger? It's a real pain!

have you used a tape to check total hight of strainer from block/sump flange ? that will determine if its hitting the base or if maybe the bracket is hitting the windage bridge.
