Scrap value

Anyone scrapped a car recently?

How much are they worth?

Cheers

I got nothing for my MX5 shell, other companies actually wanted to charge for it to be scrapped!

I should have got hold of some heavy machinery and chopped it up into transportable chunks, then I might have been able to weigh it in.

Last car I scrapped was a Volvo V40 I got £ 180 for it.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Scrapped a Berlingo van last week for a customer; Got £130 for it (collected). They were moaning about scrap being down to only £90 a ton recently but said it had gone up a bit in the last couple of weeks. Thats probably why we haven't had many calling in offering to take our scrap away.

Depends if the engine and wheels are on it... You get scrap weight value if no engine and tyres.. A set value if theres an engine and wheels to dispose of.

That's what mine does. I got more for an omega with no engine, wheels etc than a complete rover

their usually out to get your car for nothing and try and rip you off, it's actually worth quite a bit in metals alone so don't accept any sob stories or anyone offering nothing for your car as they'll make plenty from it
