pedal stuff
a couple of queries regarding pedal stuff.
1)
ive got the throttle pedal in and wired up to the carbs. with just the cable using the spring from the carbs to 'return' it feels a bit
scratchy and spongey, it doesnt return very quick.
as a temporary measure ive put a spring on the throttle cable bracket inbetween the pedal arm and the bracket so it springs back to '0'
when you take your foot off.
it feels great now but is a horrible hack job so I was wondering if thee was any 'proper' ways to do this?
2)
ive put the MNR uprated clutch cable in but discovered the threaded part on the engine end is too wide to fit in the standard R1 clutch cable holder
(where its held by nuts on either side, and the cable connects to the springy lever on the clutch)
there doesnt seem to be a chassis bar nearby to put a bracket on to to hold the cable in place.
any suggestions?
cheers!

Only to Q1.
Is the cable a teflon lined one? I used a mountain bike brake cable from the pedal to the carbs on my Indy. Felt really bad at first. Took it apart
and used moly grease on the wire sticking as much as I could inside the casing. Magic since then.

my throttle cable was similar at first. I losened off the bolt that the pedal pivots about and what do you know?
As for the clutch bracket. I took if off the engine, sat it on top of my vice. placed a long M10 bolt on the part of the bracket that was too
narrow, picked up the largest hammer that I had...
The bracket is now opened out and the clutch cable end sits in it nicely. With the nut on either end tightened up, it seems to be just fine.

ah, so bending the curved 'C' holder out to fit a wider cable works fine then? i'll do that then.
i'll also give the throttle cable a greasing, i dont think its teflon lined so cant hurt.
cheers chaps!
