Mirrors - 2 or 3??

If you're using the race mirrirs that most seem to use, is there any value on having one on the passenger side if you have a central one and one on the drivers side? i.e. can you not see everything out if the central one?

Not being road registered, so any weight/cost saving is good.

Weight saving?

My mirrors are 80g each

A convex central mirror would help but I wouldn't like to rely on just the central mirror

I was joking... but seriously, can you see any more out of the nearside mirror.

Lol

I could fit my nice racetech carbon fibre mirrors but I don't have a driver's seat fitted or a centre mirror

When I fitted my aeroscreen I didn't want a central mirror, so I mounted my wing mirrors quite high (as you can see from my avatar), and turned the driver one is slightly, and I have no problems seeing what's behind me.

Agree with Gman and Jacko if you can fit three then do so, I have three and find all of them very handy at various times. Ray

Whilst I have 2 mirrors on my car, I can only actually see out of the drivers one. The previous owner/builder must have been a different height to me. Equally, how often do you actually look backwards? I don't that often at all, although I appreciate this could be different on the track.

Hi for a track only use car then a large centere convex one is the way to go as it will show the whole of the track behind and means you barley have to move your line of sight to see it instead of having to check both side mirrors.

cheers matt
