6 weeks to go........
Well, everything's finally underway. About 6 years after we first started thinking about it, 3 years after we bought our donor sierra,
we've ordered a VortX (RT with Inboard suspension), picking up in early May.
Swmbo and I have even agreed on a colour (that took about 3 days, with the RAL charts, and we had "finally" decided on about 6 colours..).
Now we've just got to finish cleaning the boat anchor (I mean Pinto), and other bits, so they're nice and shiny when they get bolted on.
Marc's going to build the chassis to take a bike engine in the future, so we can swap to something more buzzy later....
I'm hoping the time in between is going to fly by... I'm sure I'll find something to fill it with (cleaning bits and building the
blog / website maybe)
Cheers all,
Vince

we've gone for Ruby red - quite dark so it (hopefully) doesn't fade, with black inserts to the arches and dash - I think they break up the
car nicely, particularly at the back....
How's yours going, or are you still in house mode?

Slowly - blog just updated. Reddy-pinky-marroon was one of the colours that I considered but I decided against it on the grounds that I knew
it'd lead to jibes about dubious sexuality etc.
Ruby sounds cool though. I want to see someone do a mid yellowy-green. Saw it on a Caterham and it looks 'kin cool!

Hi, does it mean that GRP colours fade with time? How badly? Do some colours suffer more than others? What experiences everyone have?
Thanks,
Gergely

Not sure about GRP in particular, but red normally fades and starts to go pink in a few years, especially if it gets parked outside in bright
sunshine. I'm also a bugg3r for not cleaning cars - I'd much rather be driving...
That wasn't the main reason for choosing the colour though - it was about the only one (other than black) that swmbo and I both liked!!
