What do you think my car will weigh when finished?

I'm just wondering what my car will likely weigh when completed. What do you think? Weight impacting specs as follows.
MNR Vortx RT+ with 2001 R1 Engine on Carbs.
Asymetric Roll-bar with diagonal to footwell.
No reverse mechanism.
Small Fuel Tank.
13" minilite-style wheels.
Custom loom - no lights aside from high-level brake light.
Fibreglass seats (one trimmed.)
Viscous Sierra Diff with Lobro shafts. Standard Cortina Uprights with M16 calipers. Fiesta Calipers at rear.

Cheers

Hi Tim At the moment its 100% 400-420 only me voted so far though

But will move up when reverse is fitted assuming you are going to get a licence.

I know the St locosts with blade came in at 440ish before attacking with the wallet and alloy parts.

So now the challenge is to get it below 400. But remember the lighter you go the more attention needs to be paid to the spec of the dampers.

cheers matt

Yes indeed what do we win if correct. Is it a brand new fully built gulf coloured MNR rt + with r1 engine.

Do you have padded seats? Boot box? Interior trim? Carbon or GRP?

How heavy are your alloys?
Have you cut all your bolts to length?

Its hard to estimate without all the details.

Okay, fair point - person who is the closest (Vote and then state in numbers in the thread) will win a £5 ebay voucher.

Weights will be from set-up session at Procomp so perhaps Matt should be banned from entering for fear that he rigs the scales!

Not sure on the weight of a wheel. Will check. One seat is lightly padded but there's still not a lot of weight to it. No boot box. No interior side panels - just the tunnel cover. All panels are GRP. All bolts thus far are minimum length but the suspension ones will be used as supplied at least to start with.

Thats what my RT weighed with a huge bag of tools in the boot, with lardy wheels, sierra uprights and vented discs plus comfy seats, lights, trim panels and all fluids to maximum.

Mind you, the savings might only add up to about 50 kg so I'm guessing at 485 kg

It will be just a smidge under 500kg - say 495kg

That is what mine weighs with an empty boot and a gallon of fuel

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I actually meant to put 435Kgs!!!

But now I'm not sure, 'cos when you say you will set fire to it - I should be worried even more about the weight of it, since YOU HAVVE ALREADY SET FIRE TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My RT+ with an R1 Engine and 3/4 of a tank weighs 515KG (without my 95KG)

15" wheels
Intertrim seats (padded fibreglass)
Cortina Uprights, Calipers & Vented disks.
Ally front hubs.
7.5" LSD (since changed to 7" open)
No Reverse

To get your car down to the low 400s, your going to need light weight panels, as they are a big contributor.

475Kgs is my vote!

I know someone who had an MNR with Blade engine and it weighed in at just under 500Kgs wet with cage. The MNR seems to be a heavier than average chassis (no bad thing for safety) and the bodywork is also substantial. You will need to add quite a few lightweight bits (hubs, wheels, brakes etc) and go minimalist on fixtures to get below 460kgs I would imagine.

Don't often see such nice Gaussian bell curves on the opinions in the polls.
I'd say the Locostbuilders borg mind is suggesting 450kg ish
