Exhaust silencer
Can anyone see any problem in fitting the exhaust silencer in this position. I have about 30mm clearance to the side panel (where it changes
direction) and about 25mm between the rear wing and tail pipe. I am trying to get the silencer more parallel to the side panel.
I am also not sure if the cat that MNR loan you for the SVA will fit with the silencer at that angle.

cats for sevens usually replace the link pipe between the manifold and the silencer. They won't be curved like your link pipe. Why not see if
you can borrow a silencer for SVA too.

It is quite long but sounds when running. It is an MNR silencer.

Looks like end is justed tacked on from inside, why not just remove end cut 50mm of elbow and re tack end back on. Problem solved.

It looks like your tail piece is for a Drivers side exhaust as the rolled edge piece has been welded on the top in your picture therefore discolouring
the piece on show???
I can't find a photo of Tim's from above with it fitted, but his is the same distance away from the body at the body "crease"
and I think it will be fine.
Although for the end tail pipe, I angled it downwards slightly for looks and trackday noise...

What's the best way to go about fitting the header pipes into the collectors? just looking at doing mine this week blowtorch? good whack on the
end with a block of wood?

Don't forget that the SVA man will measure light positions etc. from the widest part of the car. For most cars that would be the rear wings,
but he may well decide to measure from the end of that exhaust pipe.
This may put your light positioning 'out of bounds'.

The way I put the headers together was to fit number 1 and 2 headers loose then slide the collector on, then fit number 3 into collector and cylinder
head then fit number 4 in same way, then tighten everything up. I can only get the headers into the collector about 1 inch. I have tried to get it on
further with wooden block and mallet but it won't budge. I have run the engine and it doesn't leak round the headers so I guess it's
fine.

StuartG - ive noticed your got what looks like short plastic trumpets on the ends of your throttle bodies? are they from part of the airbox? or
something youve made yourself?

They were on the engine when I got it, they bolt onto the throttle bodies. I am not sure if they are part of the airbox as I haven't got it.
I am not sure how an air filter is going to fit. I think it will have to go on top of the trumpets but I still think part of the fuel rail will be in
the way. I haven't figured this out yet. I would like to fit one of the pipercross airbox's.
