MNR supplied Wiring loom
Im getting the lighting sorted, as ive got all the wiring loom from the Bike done.
Im using the Bike ignition switch to power everythng on/off, so the plan is to use a relay in the Bike ignition wiring to switch the lighting loom
on.
My question is: What do each of the wires switch?
i think there are 2x white/red, 1x white, and 1x brown
im assuming that it is designed for a 2x position ignition, brown being -ve , the 2x white powering 1 part, and the 1x white powering another?

Its one MNR supplied, lucas switch 30608 has 4 pins at the back but split into two ie two connected to one another and has 2 positions. Also the end
of that white and red wire thats going to the starter right?

Ahh I see
So two 'pined pairs'
So you need to put brown ( battery feed ) to '1 of pairs' and white to the 'other' ( switched ignition ) this will give you
ignition on So lights, indicators ect should work.
The switch looks someting like this

Just to add suspect you must be using a start button. To connect that you will need to make a cable to go from the pin thats paired with the one you
have the white on.
The other side of your start switch then needs to go to the white red this is the feed to spin the starter motor up.
Ill mod that picture and it will make more sense I hope.
Ps No waranties that I have it right buy the way.

Excellent - thanks for that
I notice there is a white/red wire that goes into the engine bay for the starter, so i presume that that wire just goes back to the one in the
ingnition... maybe via a relay? so i should be able to chop that bit out of the loom then.
More weight saving

Sorry to keep hijacking the thread DaveyD. Should i wire the brown and white as above(to ign barrel) the red/white to a start swich then to the
ignition barrel and the other end to the starter. My 5pw has a +lead with relay and then goes to the battery but where should the red/white
connect?

In most car engine the relay is the 'starter selaniod' ( the little lump an the side of the main starter motor ) so on the bike one you
need to connect the White and red to the relay that has the fat cable that runs to the starter motor motor.
Hope that make sense if not I'll try and cobble another picture together.

The bike engine already starts and runs on its own original loom. im only using the MNR loom for the lighting, so the wiring to the starter in the MNR
loom is redundant
