MNR loom to R1 loom

I think I have got everything sorted with my bike loom (03 R1) with the necessary wires being shorted but I am not sure how to connect the MNR loom to the bike loom.

I want to start the engine via the sierra ignition but am not sure how to connect the 'start crank position' wire on the MNR loom (red and white cable) to the bike loom to get a spark

do I splice into a wire in the bike loom or is it connected to the engine in some way ?

Look at this thread for a simple picture of the 98 R1 loom. It shows my wiring in of the ignition wire from the ignition key to the top of the start relay. You must cut the wire to the start relay from the rest of the circuit as shown.

Otherwise, ignore the crank wire and use the starter switch as on the bike.
