does anyone know where i can get a BEC 525 chain with 36 links? The ones ive seen tend to come in standard bike lengths
Cheers

As you appear to have been having trouble with your diff/chain you would be best to convert to 530 chain.
The sprocket is a bit wider and there is a better selection of chains available.
Conversion front sprockets are available for most bike engines.
The chain I use is a DID530ZVM-X.
Normally I get the 102 link version and cut down.
Not cheap though!
As you say they normally come in bike lengths but these are un-joined and supplied with a rivet link.
You use a chain splitter/riveting tool to reduce the length to your requirement.
Drop me a PM if you need info on the conversion to 530.
Doug.
Try Wemoto
Cheers for the reply Doug
What benefit would the 530 chain have over the 525?

Your dead right! It's 36 side plates. That could have been a costly mistake
Ive taken the chain off and had a look. Its an Iris 530 chain! no conversion needed Just need to get a 72 link replacement

Cheers Doug, I will get back out there tomorrow and measure them and let you know.
You might find someone selling chain off a roll but us RGB boys usually just buy a normal chain and cut it down.
We all (so far as I know) use DID ZVM chains - after an initial adjustment after first use they don't wear much and easily last us a whole
season. ISTR the shortest length DID do in a 530 is 102 links.
PM me if you want a price, I can get a discount at M&P.
Have a look in yellow pages for a local bike spares shop - avoid bike dealers if you can as they will charge a premium. The one I use in Derby buys chain by the roll and cuts to length.
I get mine from here.

I know they aint close but brilliant to deal with And the cheapest suplier around, give them a bell for a price. With postage they could be the best
deal and supply any lenth you want.
