looking at buying a 3.9 range rover engine. its come from a 1995 range rover just a bit worried because i know they changed the legislations in 1995 but does that mean cars AFTER 1995 are affected of cars 1995 and on wards?

Need your help PLEASE!

I believe all engines from July 1995 onwards.

No, you have to proove engine age.

If you cannot prove your engine is July 1995 or older, you have to do a cat test, otherwise you can do a non cat emissions test. Eitherway, your engine has to be in a suitable state to pass an emissions test, it's just that the non cat test is easier.

If you buy an August 1995 engine, I'd presume that the donor car came with EFI and catalytic convertors suitable for passing a cat emissions test, so what's the problem?
