i'm trying to remove the uj from 1 end but no circlips got somekind of ring with grips in?
is it threaded?
how do you remove it?
Some UJs are not easily rebuildable as the bearing is retained by deforming the yoke around the bearing with a press. This often looks like a series of "dashes" in a ring.
are bugger
oh well i'll see if i can chisel it out??
cheers martin
You can remove the UJ with a hammer and vice. Chances are the ends of the caps will break off. We would then gas axe (engineering term for gas
cutting) the cross and tap the caps out with a punch.
You need a special tool to refit a UJ. I have never seen one done successfully without........
leave it to the professionals
