Hi Guys,

Kind of hoping someone has an injection Pinto cylinder head lying around in their garage or shed! Drop me a message if you have one you want to sell :-)

cheers
Ia

is there even such a thing? I thought all pinto's were originally carb'd

Late ones were inj but from memory it was only the cam that was different

the later pinto's could be EFI - but there are quite a few little changes

the EFI heads have egg shaped inlet ports and some of the EFI heads have hardened valve seats from new for unleaded
(there is a code stamped on the head somewhere)

EFI heads tend to flow better as standard (better port shape internally) some folk say its the head design that make the extra power and not the EFI itself (2.0 EFI engines are 115hp carb ones are 105hp)

but if you plan on porting the head then the extra flow of the EFI head is irrelevant, a properly ported carb'd head is just as good as a properly ported EFI head

EFI heads are also found attached to the stronger 205 blocks with slightly better rods - so the whole package is just little better than the old carb'd ones

here is my one from a 1989 granada 2.0i
its an EFI head with hardened valve seats

Mcerd1 has just about covered it all there! If anyone has a carb head lying around I'll have a bash at porting it. I have a copy of Dave Vizards book somewhere! :-)
