Rivnut stud tool

Can anyone point me in the direction of a locost rivnut stud tool?

FIXM6SRNSHSPWH 12.5mm M6 STEEL RIVET NUT STUD RIV-NUT STUD x12

Link is to show the stud. It's a stud not a nut.

I have a rivnut tool from memfast but that doesn't do the studs.

Any ideas? I did consider using a piece of tube with a bar on to hold it while I tighten a nut to it but I guess the stud would just turn in the hole.

According to MemFast this tool does both. Is this the one that you have?

Unfortunately not. I have the newer version.

I have just seen there is a note that there will be a stud conversion out in 2012! I better contact them.

Can you fit three nuts on the stud? Think about it. That would be my locost way.

May sound silly, but what's to stop putting a bit of threaded bar in a normal rivnut? Surely the same outcome? And with a bit of thread lock, wouldn't easily come loose....

I will be using them in the chassis for earth points. I want to use something with the best chance of sealing and not letting water in.

Why not just drill & tap the chassis, then use a bolt?

I'm hoping the rivnut bolt will seal into the chassis, where taping it will not.

Try these - they work well, seal the hole, easy to put where you need them and will not induce corrosion and pretty near cheap as chips.

May be too late now, but I always just weld a bolt to the frame, head down obviously...works a treat.

+ 1, and if you use a stainless bolt you can mask the thread when painting and the exposed bit will not rust and look bad later.

Belated reply but we have rivet stud conversion kits available now from M4 to M8 in plastic case - please see website.
We also have conversion kits for UNC & UNF Rivet Nuts - again please see website
