Stuart Taylor nose cone and bonnet vs Westfield.
DANMAN - 6/9/12 at 09:59 AM

Hi guys.

I have a Stuart Taylor that has a pretty knackered nose cone and bonnet. Being in Oz there aren't any Stuart Taylor parts around so I was wondering if anyone knew whether I could use a Westfield nose cone and bonnet instead?

Dan.

I don't think so, the westfield bonnet and nose have a crease in them that they put in to stop Caterham suing them.

I hav Luego bodywork on my ST - it does mean you need to change scuttle too, as they are higher than the ST bodywork....

I cannot see why you could not fit a westfield nose cone (pre litigation) and bend up and ali bonnet.

If a later nose cone as above then with care you could make an ali bonnet to suit and taper the additional creases into the bonnet so lost bu the time you reach the scuttle.

My bonnet was just formed over a bit of plastic drain pipe with the hard creases between a couple of lengths of angle.

I bought my car from Ian at Stuart Taylor, when I asked him about various bits like windscreen, he said it was all based around a Caterham. So you should find the nose should be about the same size.

Thanks guys.

The Westfields are plentiful over here in Oz (although not where I'm located) so I will see if I can borrow one for a few minutes at the next race meet I go to and get some measurements.
