Cant reach Quaif reverse lever .. mod needed
FFTS - 27/4/10 at 07:12 AM

Well I'm 6'1" and when strapped in cant reach the reverse lever which is way under the dash.

Anyone designed an extension to go on the existing handle to extend it back around 6 - 8 "

Its an upright flat bar coming out of the tunnel and the handle is horizontal round bar.

my ST just had a simple lever pivoting between the tunnel rails with a rose jointed rod connecting to the box lever. I actually got rid of it as i kept knocking the reverse box into neutral when changing up on the gear lever, so makesure you mount it far enough away from the gear lever!

Its already in a finished car with complete working handle..

Just can physically reach it while strapped in.

Just loosen the belt when you want to reverse...

If only I could remember more useful stuff!

Hi, we have modified the lever on our car. See photos in my artchive. This also made it possible to reverse the directions, so forwards is forward and backwards is reverse. Do it, wou will never regret it, it is so much easier and better...
And an easy job to do as well.

Thanks. Seems a very vague explanation. Did you understand it?

Sort of, but if you do what is says and contact him you might have more luck.

This is what I did....the end part of the spherical bearing is attached to the top part of the small lever supplied with teh box...let me know if you need additional information...its aluminium cut using water jet and rose joinetd at all ends...it is mounetd with the top chassis member in the tunnel Rescued attachment Copy of 100_1113.JPG

I SUPPOSE YOU THINK THATS FUNNY!!!!

I had to use one of those for years serving my community service to clear my asbo for crimes against pedestrians and peace and quiet

I'm glad mine is as far forward as it is.
I don't want an unknowing passenger grabbing at it as the
disbelief of the cars cornering ability sets in

Only use it when parking really, so no problem releasing the harness

Will you give me your car please? just as a present sort of thing I'd let you visit it now and then
