advantages of itb's?

what are the advantages of itb's over standard throttle body? am just wondering if a set of bike tb's would benefit my f20c or not. its currently in standard form.

potentially increased flow on N/A setup, i went to ITB from a single on a standard zetec gained 10bhp could be more with revised ECU and scope for more improvements

It's doubtfull you'd notice the difference. It might gain some top end, but it'd be at a sacrifice to lower figures.
As it's such a well designed inlet as std, you'd have to put a lot of effort into improvements.
What management are you using?

You would be hard pressed to build an inlet up that would preform as well as a F20C standard one. Without a lot of research on sizes lenghts etc. So leave it how it is thats my advice.

30 bhp increase with jenvey ITBs over standard inlet. Not sure what increase you would get with bike ITBs though

Hi

A set of Jenvey's and a good rolling road operator will see a setup that will provide far better drive ability on the road over the STD setup. Out right BHP gain is not necessarily what you realy need for improved performance. It's how well it pulls through the rev range that will see improvements.
And being able to tune to suit the new exhaust manifold setup from the the std version.

Well.. they would look better! There are some very nice CNC machined ITB's available.
Look fantastic!
Or bike ITB's which cost a fraction of the price, but sometimes look a little "home-brewed". ( No disrespect to bike ITB users)
Any ITB setup will require an aftermarket ECU which can be quite expensive.
I would have thought that the 240 hp your engine gives ought to be "adequate" to get your car moving along quite nicely.
My 3SGE powered car only has 167 hp and it doesn't hang about.
Not that I don't sometimes wish I had a little more.
I would keep the standard setup for now and maybe put the money into some other aspect of your build.
Maybe higher spec brakes or an LSD. (You are going to need both!)
Have a nose round some of the Honda forums. Someone will already have changed to ITB's. See what results they are getting.
You could always return to the ITB question at a later date.
