Well after searching about for a kit to build i think i have come to the conclusion im going to go for a ready built and hopefully
been through an IVA test all ready. going to be 7 type kit of some sort, i think by about mrch next year i should have a budget of around 5/6k may be as high as 7k. so hope this wll buy me a kit car that is not very old and with a zetec engine in it ?
when looking around at cars what type of thing should i be looking for ? a part from obvious normal things like tyres oil leaks etc ?

Isn't a Zetec a car engine? He has yet to be corrupted leave him be.

its very important that the paperwork matches the car.

also Q plates are quite normal

Decide on which model(s) to go for. Take along someone who's built one.

Try a few before deciding which suits you, if scratch built check the welds . Also as already suggested make sures it's correcttly registered

Apart from the major components that must be in good condition (unless otherwise stated by seller), if it is a scratch build check quality is good. Look for snotty welds and hairline cracks in any tidy up welds. I have a BEC and a EEC. Horses for courses. Any car with the correct ratios and a sequential box will give a better account with you in it on a track.

im hoping if i can in my budget to get a GBS Zero,RAW striker or may be a indy or caterham or tiger ?

The Caterham and the Striker are quite small vehicles, so if you're tall or 'big boned', you might want to try one for size before deciding to buy. You could also expand your vehicle search to Westfield, MNR, MAC#1, Road Runner and Luego to name a few more which may be within your upper budget limits.

Make sure the vehicle has been correctly registered and states the manufacturer make and model.
