Got a 115km charity bike ride tomorrow, and have just found out I have to ride there (extra 7 miles!!) cos there's no trains.

Marvellous

Thats just a warm up.....
I remember a black runner who came 2nd in the comrades ultra marathon was found out by the press....he ran to the start in durban...some 35 km away from his home raced then ran home cause he had no money for the buses.
So on yer bike.
Wish i could go out riding but a pressure sore .......is uuuuuuuurgh

Cor blimey. Thats quite a lot of peddling! I used to think Nottingham to Donny and back for the BTCC was a good ride!

Hmm, the roadie lot are doing just over 100 miles, but I'm on a mountain bike with fat knobblies which is at least twice as hard

Don't you ride quite often?

I don't ride that much myself, but it kinda makes sense in my head that if I was going to ride a bike (even a Mountain bike) on the road, then I'd probably choose Road tyres... (assuming they are available!)

my old man use to get up on a sunday (just after the war, in the 1940's) and cycle 50 miles out of Manchester, do a 100 mile time trial and cycle 50 miles home........ Photo's of him from that time show him as a sticklike figure with two bulges... his knobbly knees and sticky out ears... He is a diffrent shape now... round IS a shape...

Jeez that hurt (and still does)

Glad to have done it - averaged 12.4mph, and the last 15 miles was agony. Do try and do quite a bit of cycling but usually 10 to 25 mile rides. Longest previously done was 42 with a picnic in the middle.

First 25 miles reasonably flat, then mad!
