I have a set of GSXR750 carbs fitted to my engine ( you can see them on my photos ) it has just occurred to me do they have to be angled like they
were on a bike or will hey be ok in the horizontal position?
Kev
as far as i know, horizontal will be fine. not sure if you can or need to adjust the float bowl, but i think they're designed to operate the same when a bike does a wheelie, or leans for cornering etc
have a look here

these ones are vertical!
My ZX6R carbs are horizontal. The only issue I think I might have is getting the idle set up properly, but this may not be due to the angle.
Otherwise they work perfectly.
Stu
You might upset the floats if you have it at an extreme angle. Certainly if its dramatically different you might have to adjust the float tabs.
Cheers guys I'll leave them alone for the time being
Originally my Honda CBR600FX carbs were at an angle of about 10 degrees off vertical. Now they're about 30 degrees above horizontal.
Still working well!
anyone know how well/if they'll work the other way around? ie, with the air filter side lower than the manifold side?
i might need to make a humb back manifold so i can clear the alternator and chassis
HI , point of ref for you i have a boggs manifold and its set to around 25 to 30
for a set of R1 carbs .
Are you planning to make your own ?
They're designed to work well under heavy acceleration - which is the equivalent of lowering them towards the horizontal.
Nick
For the ranges of angles that we require they will make no discernable difference to the operation of the carbs.
but what if they were angled the opposite way to the norm?
