congratulations

You are a lucky man.

A beautyfull car and a lovely family helping out.

It's running. But is sure ain't running smoothly

Nothing a little fine fiddling won't sort out. Amazing to see so many family members involved. My wife shuns my garage activities and no sprogs but even if there were I expect they'd be doing their own thing on those kind of occasions...

well good!

Sounds rough as a bag of spanners mind...think you need to take the laptop off the little girl

Mat hold your hand over all four of the exhausts and make sure there all the same sort of hot.

It sounds like its running on two or three pots.

Good motivation.......

sounds like mine , plug leads on wrong. oops

Hi Warren,
Yep I felt the same...sounds like firing on 2 or 3 cylinders only. Trouble is I had to sit in the car to get it to run. Any other way of checking whether / which cyl's it's running on?
Cheers,
Matt

Pull the plugs out after you have run it, they should give you some clues.

Ermmm... get someone else to help start it while you feel them?

Bumble - 4/7/10 at 10:30 PM

Doh.....silly me.........seriously that wasn't an option today. As talented as Madeleine and Gabrielle are I don't think they were up to starting a car!! Next time yes but any other obvious clues??

easiest way i find to make sure all pistons are working is: whilst enignes running take off one by one the spark plug leads from the plug caps and if the engine revs drops then that cylinder is working and if you take a lead off and the engine sounds no different, that's one that isn't firing.
