New feature: Avatar warnings!
ChrisW - 20/7/09 at 01:05 PM

A new feature has been added to the site at Fozzie's request that automatically checks that avatars used are within the size guidelines published.

As a reminder, we expect all avatars to be no more than 150 pixels high or wide.

You will receive a warning u2u if your avatar does not conform to this size limit, asking you to change it within 24 hours. If you do not change it, the avatar will automatically be deleted 24 hours later.

Hopefully this should cut down on Fozzie's work load chasing up those that accidentally post oversized avatars.

Cheers, Chris

Following the discussions in this thread...

...the avatar warnings have been re-enabled.

As before, you'll get a warning u2u if your avatar is bigger than 150px either high or wide. In 24 hours, if you've not fixed the problem, your avatar will automatically be deleted.

Also coming soon will be automatic resizing of avatars loaded from the photo archive. I need to get someone to translate my Perl regex's into PHP to get it working tho!
