UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.
TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

it is a sport over there... ..to wreck perfectly good cars!!!
Apparently the desert roads are REALLY long, wide and straight so the idea is to drift them at high speeds and do 360 degree spins etc.
But obviously sometimes it goes wrong!!!

yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Even our local chavs have more talent (but less cash) than those. It's really not quite drifting. More... well... like yanking the handbrake on
when changing lanes on the motorway and hoping for the best.

I can just imagine the conversation...
"Hey lads, how about going out for a piss-up tonight?"
"No, you dick, we're not allowed to drink, remember? Why don't we go out in our cars, drive dangerously, crash into people and lose
our no claims bonuses?"
"Wow! Brilliant idea! Let's go"

An insight into what happens to a section of a society when petrol is cheaper than water
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

its the dumb ass spectators that I don't understand, I think I saw about 5 or 6 snuff it during that video. Now if you are the driver then that
is some thrill - if incredibly dangerous, but whats the payoff as a spectator?
Cake or Death?
I'll have death please.

If you look at some of the "succesful" drift videos, some of them seem to have exceptional car control, but I imagine success is a very
long and expensive learning curve. What I don't get is if you want to do that on a closed road or runway or whatever then fine but some of
those seem to be just in the middle of any random road amongst the other traffic. I do particularly like the one that just pings the rear bumper off,
doesn't even look like they hit each other.

That appears to be standard driving over there. There is so many of that type of video about from there.

I think what these folks need, are corners. Corners are good for drifting. Straights, not so good........
And their desire to meet Allah must be pretty strong.
