VIN Number Plate?

Can I just use a plate with my VIN number on, or do I need to stamp the chassis? Forgot to do it befor getting the chassis powdercoated, so if I could put the info on a plate, it would be much neater.

Cheers

Adrian

IVA requires you to stamp the chassis too

Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

you can stamp a seperate plate...

but it should then be welded to the chassis

although some people have passed with it riveted in place.

Not quite the same thing and not a locost as such but IVA rules will apply.

I chopped through my chassis plate (was a riveted on OEM affair) when getting over enthusiastic with the body modifications on my middy conversion and now I'll need a new chassis plate. Can I just get the same number stamped onto another plate and riveted on somewhere where the metal is left? Or would this be as bad as not having one? Worried I'll get to the finish line and be disqualified

Why are all the fun things in life expensive!
