BEC Project Cinq and Engine

Change of interest and priorities means that this needs to go.
Cinq with Tax and Test till about March plus Kwak 1100 engine and all bits to run it.
Car has plenty of minors but mainly working and still in use as daily commuter. Kwak engine was assured good comes with short sump from a 900 rad wiring clocks etc etc

Looking for £250 each £450 the pair. May consider a swap before it goes on the bay

How were you planning to fit it? FWD? RWD? Mid engine?

I ask as I've just given up on a similar project (V-twin into a Seicento) due to everything not quite fitting and being fundamentally flawed as a result. However I put that down the engine I'd chosen. How long is the 1100 front to back? It looks a lot shorter than the V-twin I had.

Plenty of room to fit an R1 into a mini engine bay, so there should be plenty of room in the Cinq.

I didn't think it wouldn't fit, it was more a case of how were you planning to connect the drive up? chain diff or a modified gearbox?

Considered both, I had a feeling that the existing gearbox/dif was a possibility, albeit a potentially weak one

BTW I'm not trying to poo-poo the idea, I'm very tempted by it myself, I still have my homebuild chain diff from my failed attempt which would be a major part of the work.

Mating the bike output direct to the fiat gearbox has been done on blackbird engines but from what I've been told the result wasn't great for handling as it put the engine too far out the front. It would handle the torque though which is what kills the boxes as they survive turbos and 1.4 conversions without any modification.

Downside on the chain diff is usually the size of the rear sprocket you need to get sensible gearing.

Could I pester for some more details? Do you have the distance from the front of the engine back to the output shaft? I've got my old seicento chassis (underneath identical to the cinq) in my garage still and I'd like to measure up and see what space that would leave me behind it for the diff.

It's too dark and cold I'll try and get a bettr look on Tuesday but it looks to be about 450mm and around 500mm max front to back, with it sitting about level

Does the bread trolley come with the engine? They are an invaluable piece of kit in any workshop.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Up for sale on Ebay again. Just missed reserve before Xmas with huge interest, but probably restricive as to how many wanted both as I had greater interest in selling one or the other
Still looking for £250 each £450 the pair. No reserve on either though this time.

And the bread trolley is still not included!
