Why Me....

Well,
I decided to bite the bullet and go for some Hi-spec rear SVA calipers because the Wilwood ones are low effort and I found out that the Westfield ones were cheaper than the Hi-spec direct plus they had them in stock so I went for them... Cut a long story short they don't fit... They were advertised as sierra fit however it turns out that the disks supplied are 240 not the std 253mm and the hubs on a westfield are smaller diameter than the Sierra ones . I thought they look tight but I guessed they must have sent the wrong disks so I bought some from the local factors and although the calipers fit the pads rub slightly on the hub and clearly they are wrong... Anyone fitted the Westfield rear calipers to a std Siarra rear end using the std Sierra 253mm disks... Saving £100 and the time doesnt seem like a good decision now.

Sorry I can't help with your answer Dave, but it might make you feel a little better to know that you're not alone. I get myself into these sort of pickles all the time!

is it the outer part of the hub that is too big or the central centring part? if its the centring part in the middle then machine the discs out. if its the outer part of the hub then machine down the outer part of the hub there is loads of meat on them. im sure there will be someone local with a lathe that can do it for you.

I will have to call Hi-spec to see what the differences are.... I hope it is only the pads..... but I doubt it....

Sorry to butt in but if you are getting rid of the wilwoods I'd be interested in them

I will be looking to sell the wilwoods but everyone needs to be aware that they are the big disk type... They wil fit under only 15" wheels or above.... Only done about 1 mile.

Calipers pair
Spacers with bolts
273mm disks.

The complete kit less the handbrake cable (i need to keep mine anyway) on Rally design is £352.00.... so thinking about £220. Not sure how much delivery would be but what ever it costs...

I still have all the original packaging. I have painted the exposed parts of the disks (no not the pad area :-)) to stop the disks rusting.

It sounds very much like the same as the Wilwood sierra handbrake caliper kit for drum brakes. They use a 240mm disc and a machined down hub.

Wondering what size the willwood discs are as the Rally design site gives two at that price 240mm or 273mm?

I'm asking, as I've a problem with pad underhang on cossie 500 discs because of the machined recess in the face. So I'm desperate to find a 273x10mm solid disc that does not have a recess machined around the faces close to the bell, wondering if the ones you have fit the bill?

For info and image here's original thread link

With thanks

Hi, not sure if I was clear enough in my previous post, I'm not trying to poach or jump in on a potential sale here, I was after some clarification on the discs if all possible, if they are suitable then I'll source from Rally Design. Specialist discs tend not to be held in stock so its difficult for me to go and view before buying.

Cheers

Good news..........

Talked to Hi-Spec and they were very helpful..... The Calipers are the same it turns out they do two different depth pads... So looks like I am sorted...
