80th Birthday Present?
Old mans 80 in a fortnight
I havent got a clue what to get him by way of a present.
He's still in one piece, but a bit beyond parachute jumps, spa days or Ferrari driving.
He's got a PC and tinternet TV - DVD and a Jag a dog and a small house, already full.
I'm straw clutching here, any ideas?

Is he fit enough for a hot air ballon flight??

Took my grandma to East Kirby for a ride on Just Jane for her 80th....currently trying to figure out what to do for her 85th...

Im sure I got one of my pa's a retirement a trip on the orient express that went to Wales, so maybe they do them the other way around on day
trip,he'll be treated like a king.

Bangor? Can you hire the Llangollen steam train for a family party/picnic?
Not too long a ride quite scenic and they do OK cakes at the cafe at the end of the line
Failing that take his Jag upto John O groats via the Falkirk wheel/Agel of North etc

For my dads 80th we had 2 meals/partys. One with all the extended family (grand/great kids, cousens, etc) and another meal that we told him was just
Dad, Mum and all us kids; We then invited all his friends, including some very old friends he hadn't seen for years. We hired the venue for the
day and when we arrived everone was waiting, but instead of the big "surprise!" they all stationed themselves around the hotel as if they
were just there for Sunday lunch. He spotted someone and we had the usual greetings and "What a coincidence" and it took about 4 of those
before he worked it out. He loved it.
Apart form that we ot him a large digital photo frame and loaded it with family photos and added a load from his birthday do's.

That sound really nice.
Sadly, he's a bit thin on the friends and family front.

I bought my old fella a trial flyght in a light aircraft
from humberside , he had the option to take control or just
enjoy the ride , he flew for 40 mins up the river trent
n round over the humber bridge , he absolutely
loved it
when you start this journey
you think it will be done in " no " time but then " no " turns into a " bloody " long time
