To a certain extent, yes. The effects are nowhere near as good as a turbo, for example my V5 engine delivers 170bhp and 166lbft as standard, the remap would possibly take that to 177bhp and 170lbft if I'm really really lucky.

Obviously you can only remap a car that uses a map in the first place, but as a good start if the car is fuel injected with a closed loop emission system it will run a map of some kind. So anything in the last fifteen years or so?

Try this bloke Brookie http://www.ecuflash.co/temporary/ he did a dpf removal and remap on my merc, he's local too ( doncaster )
