Tail lights

Quick question....

How do you get the tail lights to stay on when you switch from sides to headlights?
I tried to feed 12v to the tail lights from the headlight switch, but when you switch to sides the front headlights stay on rather than just the sides....

If your building the car for the race series, you don't need headlights

Your side lights should be on all the time the lights are on. Your sides shouldnt be turning off until its switched to off..

Sounds like your switch is just a plain 3 way switch.

I will check the switch, which is from a VW polo (it has quite a few spare terminals)
