Duratec Oil Filter Options

I see a few suppliers selling adaptors to use a new spin on oil filter but generally seem to be around £100 which seems a lot of money for a bit of Ali!

I was wondering about knocking one up myself - I have a CNC mill so that side isn't a problem. has anyone made their own?

Also does anyone happen to know what spin on oil filter raceline use?

Cheers

Dave

Fiesta ST150 (2.0 Duratec) uses a screw on filter as standard.

Filter housing is bolt on.

Filter part No. is 1751529

Just looked at the Raceline one, it comes out horizontal, the Fiesta ST150 one the filter hangs downward.

Won't be starting for a while, was just throwing a few ideas around. Which oil filter are you planning to use?

I use K/N HP-2009.

It is designed for the duratec so its pressures release valve is at the correct PSI.

I just went through this dilemma myself.

The engine builder of my car fitted it with a Mann+Hummel W7008 which has a bypass valve which opens at 1bar. I'm running about 265bhp with no problems.

Caterham (on R400/R500 duratecs) use a UFI 23.118.00 which opens at 0.7 bar (and is quite a compact unit - they might be using it for size as much as anything else).

The KN above is rated to open between 11-14psi which is 0.75-0.96 bar, so I'm guessing anything of decent quality in the 0.7-1 bar range will probably do the job.
