Rover 45 - can I take the battery out
Stupid question,
2003 Rover 45 1,6K series donor.
Can I leave the battery out (store inside on the trickle so it survives) and come back in a few weeks/months with it still starting.
I'm concerned cause MEMS communicates with key fob...
Also, can I replace the key fob battery or is there a special dance to it ?

Why take it out? You can trickle charge while it's wired in normally... Think of jump starting your car makes no difference to it. My landys on
a float charge most of the time it's in the garage, battery last ages that way. Same with my caravan.

I have multiple batteries, and only 1 trickle
and I'll be gone 6months for an internship.
So I want it as painless as possible for someone to keep them all in check.

MEMS should be fine, I have a similar vintage MGF that started first time after 2 years having been stored with no battery
