Parking in Haywards Heath advice needed

Any locost members with local knowledge of Haywards Heath to give some advice please. I will be catching a train to Gatwick next week and need to leave my small van somewhere. I am away for two weeks and would like to find a place to park it. Any ideas of areas where parking is free? Happy to park further away and get a taxi to the station.

Thanks Jon

Can't you put it in long stay car parking at the airport. I'd not leave a van anywhere for longer than a couple of days.

If you insist, I just looked at google and found this "hiding place"

Alternative location that isn't in a residential area,

(Found by googling whilst listening to a podcast, no idea how safe it is)

Goodness me.
Secure parking can be had for less than £10 a day around the airport.
Surely it's worth it for piece of mind that you won't come back to a vandalised or broken into van.

I am in Brighton, and occasionally drive through HH.
My feeling is that the central and train areas are all controlled parking, but move further out and you should find residential streets with unrestricted parking.
I guess it should be OK in a residential street, you get a feel for how safe an area is pretty fast.

So if you want parking, do a bit of research on google maps (street view is handy for spotting restrictions) get there early, have a drive around and I reckon you will find somewhere within 2 miles of the station.

Parking

Thanks for the replies, have had an offer from another club member to park on their drive! It was looking at around £150 to park

£128 for 10 days on airport parking at Gatwick last month for family holiday. Didn't want to spend it, but really didn't want to come back to parking tickets or clamps or car having been removed.

I've used off airport parking before when it's just me for work. Have to allow extra time for airport transfers though.

Airport parking has just about doubled in price since precovid.
It is cheaper for us to get an airport transfer taxi for 10 days or more, unless we can get a lift off somebody. Ho hum.
