2000 Fisher Fury, 2024 top spec rebuild, Tracsport LSD, 170bhp Zetec
2000 Fisher Fury, 2024 top spec rebuild, Tracsport LSD, 170bhp Zetec
Bought as a project car and stripped back to a bare chassis, before being freshly powdercoated and equipped with an MSA-regulation roll bar (which
flares out to provide a little side impact protection). All bearings, polybushes, rose-joints, rubber drivebelts, CVs etc are new.
The build was fully documented in Complete Kit Car and almost every nut, bolt, seal and fixing is new. The idea was to create a near race-spec car for
fast road use and track days (so no full cage as they ruin road usability).
The original Dunnell 165 Zetec silvertop engine had only covered just over 4000 miles prior to the rebuild and judging by the condition of the cams
(checked when the cambelt was changed) this is correct. It had a carb rebuild and new K&N air filters as well as being rolling road tuned. It
actually made 170bhp on the rolling road.
Since the rebuild the car has covered under 200 miles including one track day and one sprint. Thanks to the unique custom Great British Sportscars
CAD-designed fully independent rear suspension and the new ATR dampers the handling is excellent. It also has a Tracsport (super expensive) LSD fitted
so it is very stable when under full power on track, even when running the curbs.
Its surprisingly quick and can really get the power down. Its a pleasant roadcar while still being able to do the business on track.

Formula Ford next.
