Engine recomendations

Hi all, Im abit new to this, but im currently looking into building an MK Indy R. But having abit of trouble deciding what engine to go for. I think ive got it down to a later injection R1 05-07? or a ZX10R after reading lots on here

What do you guys think? any obvious good / bad points? Anything to really avoid? and is there anything else i should look into first?

Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob

You can't go far wrong with a 2005 R1 and there are 2 for sale here !

Welcome to the forum btw.

Welcome.
R1 is tried and tested and very good value.
ZX10 is slightly more cutting edge but looks like another winner.

You wont go far wrong with either.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly to suggest a CAR engine

Both the zx10r and R1's are great engines, either will do,just wait for one coming up at the right money,Ive got the 2007 zx10r in mine, but don't rule out the 2004/5 zx10r,around the same power output but around £600 to £700 cheaper
Just to add this link http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=91874 ,if it was me I would buy the one with the engine numbers,Chris will mod the loom which will help you alot with the install,he also has the clocks etc
