Whats your 0-60 times ?
graememk - 27/7/10 at 03:11 PM

Ok what do you think the fastest 0-60 you can get in a 7 is ? I’ve seen so many figures quoted that I don’t believe, what do you get in yours?

I’ll start with mine

5.8 seconds 0-60 recorded on my gps phone app, 150(ish) bhp 1.8 turbo Indy

bi22le - 27/7/10 at 03:43 PM

i snapped a drive shaft last time i did a standing start so im not trying it again untill i get the half shafts reinforced. That happened about 36 before leaving for nurburgring! I would guess mid 5sec. 150 bhp 4age raw striker

MakeEverything - 27/7/10 at 03:44 PM

Im hoping for a close 5. Mid engined renault 21 supercharged engine.

jase380 - 27/7/10 at 03:48 PM

never timed it usually too busy holding on, but fooking quick... indy zx10r 146bhp at wheels. Might make it my first job of the day tomorrow to time it

Thats about as reliable as someone sitting next to you with a stopwatch!

IF you want a cheap way to test, get to TRAX show on 5th Sept and they will use top end test gear.

Doofus - 27/7/10 at 03:49 PM

Not sure cos my speedo got bust doing a 0-60

cloudy - 27/7/10 at 03:52 PM

Under 3 for the R4, depends on the road surface as to how much under...

hobzy - 27/7/10 at 04:30 PM

4.5 on a Race technology meter.
Not been able to get the power down like it since. Total fluke of warm tyres, freshly laid road and running on fumes Haven't got it under 4.8 since.

chris mason - 27/7/10 at 04:33 PM

Best I can prove is 0-91.78mph in 7.736 seconds, that was with the Indy2000

I reckon the 1600 sr2 should be good for an equivelant in about 15 seconds or so

mackei23b - 27/7/10 at 04:37 PM

0-60mph 4.1 Seconds (Official Westfield Figure), not sure what I've managed!

omega0684 - 27/7/10 at 04:39 PM

i have heard that Duncan's Hayabusa Turbo can do it in just over 3 seconds.

Mr G - 27/7/10 at 04:42 PM

With the speed humps, bumps, camera's and traffic chicanes round here there's no chance of even getting upto 60 anymore!

That's not accurate. I did trax in 2002 in my FTO and got this: -

It told me my 0-60 was 7.1 seconds but didn't start counting time until I was doing about 7mph!

ReMan - 27/7/10 at 05:22 PM

I'm going for 4.6 with me at 16st 1/4 tank of fuel.
Measuerd automatically with my on board Veypor

twybrow - 27/7/10 at 05:29 PM

4.4s in my Daytona powered ST - that was running the SVA map. Now I have it tweaked I must have another go!

goaty - 27/7/10 at 05:46 PM

timed 4.6secs with 150bhp pinto, two light blokes in the car.

Wow, that's one hell of a time, how have you measured it? How is the R4 geared?

I don't think I can achieve that time in my race car with slicks and it only weighs 326kgs (wet without my lardy ass in the seat!).

My car is (only) blade powered but with less mass than a car (even an R4 ) and two 7 inch slicks, 12T front sprocket and 36T rear, I doubt I do a sub 4 second 0-60!

I'm amazed by your minimum sub 3 second time! I think I would need 'the perfect storm' conditions to get near that time! What do you think you could do on a grippy drag strip with some sticky slicks? Got to be worth another chunk of time! do you think that would shave a second off or am I too optimistic? Theoretically you would probably be in the late 1's early 2's as your sub 3 at present!

Hats off to you!

Interesting thread this!

Paul (Notts) - 27/7/10 at 06:27 PM

4.9 sec on my data logger on the 3rd attemp. Then decided to give up as I was going to damage either the gearbox or rear diff.

that was on a slight uphill run.

Main problem was avoiding the rear whell spin, and not changing gear!

madteg - 27/7/10 at 07:06 PM

3.5 Checked on in car camera at bakstone heath.

graememk - 27/7/10 at 09:10 PM

looks like flak monkey has the fastest 7 here then at 2.8 seconds, that must hurt your face.

procomp - 28/7/10 at 10:49 AM

Hi

Our LA Golds when setup right with the anti-squat do 0-60 in 2.7s and the 64Ft in 1.9s on list 1A tyres. That's as recorded by Gordon Hick in his welsh sprint championship car. Although anyone who saw the LA Gold on A048's at Brands hatch a few months ago will know that those figures where obliterated on that start.

The good old live axle and a bit of anti-squat.

Cheers Matt

Yowser,
That's impressive.
Is that with a special box?
I timed a run once and spent nearly 1 second changing gear....

procomp - 28/7/10 at 12:16 PM

Hi

Not that special. Just using a Quaife type 9 or 4 speed cant think whats in what car. But usually running a 2.04 first gear. So 60 mph is in first gear depending of diff ratio.

Cheers Matt

a4gom - 28/7/10 at 08:40 PM

it's something everyone thinks about but whats the most accurate locost way of measuring it?
Think my best 64ft time with this engine is about 2.4 secs and that's on 3 year old tyres if i can master the wheel spin i recon i'll get 2 or 2.1 but i have no way of measuring the 0-60.

pre lit - 28/7/10 at 11:44 PM

andy just borrow my race logic box and that will tell you
keith

scutter - 29/7/10 at 12:59 AM

Using a combination of MS datalogging and gear calc, my old blacktop engine did 5.7 with 2 people onboard, hoping for under 5.5 with the ST170 engine.

ATB Dan.

cloudy - 30/7/10 at 09:21 AM

70% of the weight on the rear wheels, 350 ish kilos, hot R888's and an R1 seems to do the trick Geared for a touch over 60 in 1st, so no changes. Pretty sure i'd snap my homegrown driveshafts on drag tarmac, but would be interested to see what difference it makes, because it's all managing wheelspin normally....

flak monkey - 30/7/10 at 03:34 PM

Just been and done some dataloging, though finding a quiet stretch of road thats flat is a challenge!

Best 0-60 time was 3.400sec with loads of wheel spin in 1st and missing 2nd gear. 2.8 should be easy with practice and a straight section of road...or just being a better driver than me

30-50mph in third 2.006 sec
30-70mph in third 3.582 sec
50-70mph in third 1.574 sec
