I've got a 2005 R1 (5VY) engine and ECU powering my Caterham 7. It occasionally revs higher rather than lower when I lift my foot off the
throttle and dis-engage the clutch simultaneously. My guess is that this is a throttle body balance/fueling issue which will either be fixed by
resetting the TPS or balancing the throttle bodies or both.
Unfortunately life is not so simple for 2 reasons -
1. There are 2 throttles on the TBs, one is controlled by me, one is controlled by the ECU, I can't get my head around how I can balance the
manual set while the ECU ones are above it and interfering - please explain - is the fueling controlled by the TPS or the MAP?
2. I don't have the original clocks for the bike, so I can't go through the method in the manual for resetting the TPS - is there a way I
can do it without?
