Gear position indicator not working
Dopdog - 20/1/15 at 08:26 PM

I have a hayabusa fury and have just purchased a GIpro gear indicator for it. How hard can it be? all you have to do is unplug the GPS white plug and connect the indicator into both ends. Then there is one wire that is either switched or perminent 12v feed simple.

Apart from I have nothing, the car runs as normal but no indication on the gear indicator? is there anything I can check with regards to what voltage I should be seeing at the pins in the GPS end or loom end?

I've had the wire catch he back of the clutch basket before and snap causing the indicator not to work, but it's only ever happened on one car out of 200 we've done.
Or your more than welcome to call me tomorrow and our electrician will tell you what out puts you should be getting.

Don't know if its of any help but thought id post

meter in DC 20V setting
- Connect the black meter probe to the negative terminal of battery
- Connect the red meter probe to the Pink wire in the 3-pole bike connector).

- Select Neutral and Turn ignition On
The Neutral indicator should be lit.
The voltage reading should be about +5.0V

- Select 1st gear
The voltage reading should be about 1.8 V

- Select 2nd gear
The voltage reading should be about 2.4 V

- Select 3rd gear
The voltage reading should be about 3.1 V

- Select 4th gear
The voltage reading should be about 3.7 V

- Select 5th gear
The voltage reading should be about 4.4 V

- Select 6th gear
The voltage reading should be about 4.8 V

If you get it working andrunning the 5th gear map, should show 4.4v in gears 1-5

I had similar problem, gipro would power up, but then go blank. In the end I cut out some of the connectors and wired direct between ECU and sensor. Worked fine after that.
