I still have my odd problem i drive along put my foot down and the engine goes burrrr burrr sometimes if i dip the clutch and rev it again it clears
however sometimes it dies.
I have tried the following
new coils
new plugs
new rectifier (added a fan to keep it nice and coil.
Balance carbs they are spot on.
it's driving me nuts not being able to find the fault, any ideas will be most welcome.
Hesitation on WOT?
What engine / carbs are you running?
Usually I'd worry about the accelerator pumps but seeing as you're in the BEC section you're probably running CV type carbs which
don't have any
its a zx9r e series the carbs however are c series.
sounds more like and ignition fault, like a poor spark
This might help

Then again it sounds like banjo playing cowboys. Yeeehaaaa!
I suspect the problem is more run of the mill than needing to drill out jet holes...
it only does it after 8/9 miles of driving its driving me nuts.
if i stop for 30 seconds all returns to normal.
Are the carb slides sticking?
BTW what is 'WOT' an abbreviation for?
so do i have these pilot screws on a zx9 carb?
I thought i could only changed the mixture by changing the jets?

Think your looking to make a mountain out of a molehill sounds like fuel starvation to me. Either your fuel pump can't keep up of the pickup is in the wrong place. I.E. on tickover all is fine, driving you slowly empty the float bowls and then stopping for 30 secs is enough to allow them to refill.
Can change needle and springs with a dyno jet kit

I will look into the fuel at lunch time
It is pumped from the tank thro to a regulator looks like a disc thing.
Also i will check to see if i have a filter in the system.
The wife had never heard me curse as much as yesterday!! for future reference she left me be for a good few hours after so i did learn something
I'd go with the fuel pump / filter problem as well. I had similar problem which was cured by changing pump and adding a regulator and setting to 3 psi. Check what pressure you have ...
filter in the pump is nice and clean
i have a petrol king fuel saver
i needed to find out how to increase the pressure
ZX9R could be different to blade but this I'll explaine my issues and see if anyone can confirm.
Did have facelet (or whatever the things are called) pump and Fuel pressure regulator. IMHO Bag of Sh*te and never got it working properly.
Got rid of the lot (pump and regulator) and just fitted a blade pump - all was sorted.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Eddie
I upped to fuel pressure to 8 psi (gauge was made in 1921 for a old truck!! thanks Andy)
Sure thats too much but.........................
It works and at last i have been able to blast the E series and it goes like stink!!!!
Thanks to all who helped me with advice i am very grateful
