Need to get rid of our two chickens, as were neglecting them a little due to work commitments etc and the kids have lost interest!
They are really too old to cook, and not fat enough and i dont think i would be spoken to for a while if i served them up with potatos and carrots.
(hmmmmm............)
So, im looking for someone that has looked after chickens before, to take these two birds and give them a little more care.
They cost me £30 each, will accept £50 for the pair with a coop, feeding trough, water feeder etc.
U2U me any interest please.
so if you cant eat em and they are too old. what woudl you do with em?
Keep them as pets and retrieve the eggs from them every day.
they're great pets! heres all mine

They have been good fun, and interesting for the kids but they do make a hell of a mess of your garden! Especially as ours gets very wet anyway, they
just turn the whole thing over.
Subsequently, they do spend quite a bit of time in the coop, and not very well looked after now - hence, they need a better home.
Blake, ours is the same as your first picture (Black), and the ginger one.
chickens cost £30???? I had no idea they were that expensive. they would need to lay a lot of eggs to pay for them selves - How much is feed? - chicken feed?
we spend about £20 a month on layers pellets. plus corn, and greens for them. then you need hay, sawdust, and various potions to look after them.
BUT we get 6 eggs a day +, everyday even throughout the winter. certainly keeps me in cakes.

think all my girls were between £8-16 each. ducks were £50 for the pair.
BUT they didn't come with a house, feeders etc, so £50 for all that i think is pretty good

Can you post it?
Two down at heel guys, locosters maybe, were discussing what might have been, what could be if things were different...
"So what if you won 2 million on the lottery then, like that guy last week. What would you do?"
" I'd give you half. One million. Cos your my best mate. Whats mine is yours, you know that."
" And what if you'd got two houses?"
"I'd give you one of my houses. No problem."
"And what if you had two Rolls Royces?"
"Simple. I'd give you one of them."
"And what if you'd got two chickens?"
" Now sod off, you know I've got two chickens!"
A young farmer needed a new stud cockerel, so went to the farmers market.
He looked high and low, but couldn't find any, until just before leaving he saw a large metal cage, jumping up and down in the back of a
landrover.
Intrigued he went across and asked the old farmer about it.
The old farmer smiled, "see that there is Kenny the cockerel, the most virile beast you could meet! He hasn't had any today and look how mad
he is!" turning to the bouncing cage laughing.
"I'm actually after a new stud cockerel, could I buy him?"
"Buy him? You can have him! he's a bloomin nightmare, but will serve you well as a stud - just make sure you lock him up or he wont
stop!"
The young farmer couldn't believe his luck and takes Kenny home laughing.
Arriving home in early evening he opens the cage, and quick as a flash kenny is out, like a bullet from a gun, straight across to the hen house, where
a mighty scuffle ensues, feathers everywhere as Kenny goes at it with gusto.
"not even saying hello Kenny?" laughs the young farmer. Who goes to have his tea.
As he eats he hears a loud quaking noise, and looks out the window to see the randy kenny chasing after a load of ducks to have his way.
Next the geese
Then the swans
before long he is chasing sheep round the field and cows round the cow shed!
The farmer remembers the old farmer saying about locking him up, and worried decides he needs to lock him up quick before he dies of a heart
attack!!
The farmer tries and tries but can't get him under lock and key, and in the end shouts at Kenny - "you'll be dead by morning you randy
rooster! mark my words!" and goes to bed annoyed.
Sure enough he wakes up in the morning, looks out on the courtyard and there, legs pointing to the sky is Kenny the cockerel, with vultures circling
overhead.
The farmer walks out, and says "well, well, well - I did try to tell you kenny...."
At which point, kenny opens one eye, looking at the vultures and says "shhhhhh!!! their coming!"
