Just wanna say hi guys!
Complete novice at all this. Been into my Road bikes for years but gave them up 2 years back.
I still moto x on the w/ends but wanted something that put a smile on my face
Found a nice 2004 model looks real clean with a 919 blade engine runnin on carbs
Its done 4k and from what the owner and Mark from Mac has said seems a good deal
Any tips would be much appreciated!
I wouldnt mind using it a few times over winter is there any time of winter protection you can get?

Woolly hat, thick gloves and a big coat!!
You might need something absorbent in your trousers as well if the roads are damp.

No advice really, but can I hijack this a bit and say that I have just gotten into motocross having never even ridden a road bike, and that a 450 crosser fully open is the most frightening thing I have ever done. You will enjoy the Mac1, but I'd say you won't be afraid of it. Enjoy
where abouts in essex are you, im buiding my mac#1 in essex, should be finished soon if the boys send my bits out before xmas

Cheers for all the posts guys. Im nervous about spending that sorta money and problems I might get.
I will no doubt tinker as I go along. Just want it to give me that 'soil' experience as said in earlier posts
If the car has been built well and looked after you shouldnt have many horrors. Like all specialist cars you should expect some tinkering and these
cars are a great hobby as they are never finished - always something you can do to improve them.
Get it bought and enjoy it.
This applies to all kits, but take a tape measure along, and make sure the car is symmetrical. ie, The diagonals measure the same +/- 3mm at max.
Then check if both back wheels point the right way. ie. have the same toe in. Some kits I've seen have no adjustment on the rear toe, so any
problems require some surgery, or iffy shims.
Check both front wheels have the same camber, then look at the top balljoint. Does the same amount of thread show each side? I've seen some
wildly differring measurements here on all kits. If there is a diference, then it means the chassis is bent or wishbones are dodgy, or mounts are not
correctly positioned, or all of the above.
Just be careful, take your time, and don't let your excitement rule your head.
All learned from hard experience.

Just got car home after a 550 mile round trip. 260 odd miles in the MAC was hard work 0 degrees!!!
Had loads of fun though until I got home, just as I pulled into my drive the clutch cable snapped! What timing!
I got a fw niggles too. The throttle seems to be missing a return spring?! It comes far to close to your foot. You push it and take up what feel likes
inches then the cable tightens and its OK.
The guy said its a small spring but his snapped.
The handbrake light needs adjusting it sticks a little and erm well thats about it!
Does anyone find their pedals are angled a little high? Or is this something you can personalise while your building?
Thats about the only things I need to sort, sounds and goes lovely though

Yep. Never driven anything like that before! Use to many road bikes and sporty cars but it didnt prepare me for that cold!!
Kept it between 80 - 100mph all the way back. Av about mid 30's mpg I think.
Felt bad keeping it revving so high at 100 so didnt go that quick too often
On a seperate note I spoke to Mark again from MAC as I said I might pop in and see him on the way through but due to weather I had a certain need to
get home sharpish. He's already sortin out the clutch cable, a bracket for the throttle and sent me a link for digi dash so I can set it up
properly. Really a top top guy
Got a trackday booked in mid Jan (subject to weather) at Brands Hatch Indy. Should be a right hoot!
