It is not my day today and I seem to be having no luck.

After altering the brake mounting plate I decided to fit the other drive shaft and then check to see if anymore replies had been left on here.

So I tried to pop it in with the rubber mallet but it seemed to not want to go in. So I thought I would pull it out and check the circlip was position OK still.

Now it won't come out. The splines are coming far enough out that they aren't engaging with the diff, so on that basis the circlip has obviously not locked into the diff.

It just will not come out and I have no idea why, what could have happened?

So I thought I would come back to that and finish the other side but I am still having no luck there. Not my day today. Up to now I haven't had any stress with it and its been my little place to get away from it all!

sorry not constructive but thought a bit of humor will help

All I am going to say is, I just learnt how to disassemble and reassemble a freelander diff.

And problem solved.
