First drive... with vid clips
Slater - 24/12/08 at 07:04 PM

Yes, drove it out of the garage today for the fist time. Very smooth, running on EDIS 4 limp home mode still. 2 vid clips for you.

A very good day, it does seem very quick, although I only drove up and down the road a few times, never got out of 2nd gear.

I can't belive I have achieved this. Wooohoooo.

Two small problems though.....
1) The alternator light does not go out, it's a CVH alternator. What do I check?

2) When I connect the battery wires (with ingnition off) there is a small spark, so I presume there must be a live circuit drawing some current. Any ideas on how to check which wire/circuit is drawing current?

Merry Christmas by the way.

Congrats.

Every new achievement video comes complete with hilarious commentary.

"That'll do surely, God, it's quite boring to be fair."

Hahaha.

you should have spun a donut in front of the misses if she thinks that its a bit boring, or a massive wheel burn out!

just a suggestion,

DONT fit a screen and then take her out in it with no eye protection, she'll soon change her mind! you will see her cowering in the passenger footwell, shouting "OH S**T, OH S**T, OH S**T, IM GONNA DIE! "

Oh and congrats on getting it going! not long until sva, looks like the car is well on its way to being complete

one way of finding your live ciruit is to pull the fussed and put them back in 1 by 1 seeing if you get your flash when you have added a particular fuse you have then tied it down to a particular ciurcuit.

PS well done

Just had my first proper drive since I basically stripped the whole motor apart, cleaned, greased and rebuilt.

I have a checklist of jobs still to do - is it me or do these things become quite obsessive and almost a part of your life

I got a small 15 sec video but gotta figure out how to load it up

Kinda jumped in on your thread there buddy (sorry) but another big smile back here in Essex!
