I seem to be putting alot of posts on here recent
I took it for a spin today and noticed the left fron guard shaking a fair bit. On closer inspection I could see that from age/wear it had given up and
pretty much snapped.
I got my father in law to do a bit of welding on it with no luck so looks like I gotta replace it
W/out sounding too stupid exactly what is this part. It from the sierra donor I can only assume. Its cast friggin iron!
Again thanks in advance for any advise!

it's definitely steel and easily repairable too if you know a man who can wield a welder properly.
if your father in law's had a crack and it's no good, probably easier to give mac1 a ring as graham said
tom
If it's powder coated you will need to remove all traces to get a good weld to take.
Dean,
Col has redesigned the latest brackets to try and stop this type of failure and to simplify the design.
Give them a ring
Just tried callin mac, think they open monday. My bad for being a little over enthusiastic! I'm gonna order a new one for what its worth but after readin that i could simply make a fresh piece and reweld it on i thought it'd be a waste to just throw it away so will do that monday too. I'm find it so frustrating not knowin my round one of these but am learnin slowly. My knowledge is far better with engines but even then i struggled with a bloody clutch actuator arm the other week! Again with the solution from here

Are these the same?
They came off my Mac. No idea how much they cost but you're welcome to make me an offer.
