I am using a 2005 ZX10R in my Mac Worx and I am incorporating the oem ignition switch and barrel as they contain the immobiliser antenna etc.
The mounting holes are at the rear of the barrel body some 100mm from the dash. I am considering cutting a hole in the dash to allow the barrel to
protude through and then use tubing as sleeves for the bolts from the dash to the rear mounting holes. I would einforce the dash with large washers. I
just wonder whether the the fitting would be stiff enough, ie hold the barrel firmly in place.
How have others fitted the barrel to the dash to satisfy sva requirements?

I don't think many people have used the OEM barrel.
You don't have to have you ignition barrel/key protruding through your dash, I didn't use the OEM barrel, but I mounted my barrel and key
etc behind the dash, so I could make it well mounted without the problem of re-stiffening the dash, or of being compliant with SVA.
Here's the only pic I have of mine:
Just strip down the barrel using only the electronics, that's what I did. Basically it's just a small disc at the bottom of the barrel. Wire
this into the loom and fit any Switch or Push Button that you like.

I have fitted the switch to the dash using 100mm bolts and tubing as spacers. I can say that the fitting is good with no play or movement in the switch.
