Well I have submitted my SVA paperwork so I guess it wont be too long before the big day. It will be trailered to the boys at Mac 1 the day before
but I'd like to get everything done that I possibly can to give myself as little stress as possible on the day. Please can you guys check the
pics and let me know if I've (purposely) made any errors. Cheers.
P.S. I've already put the standard wheel back on and I'm in the process of making a gaiter for the handbrake. I'm also aware that I
need to raise the height of the rear foglight which is currently hidden under the back of the car.
check the books wording on the front arches. They need to cover the wheel at certain angles from the centre.

only thing i noticed was position of the mirrors, seem to be set quite low & why are they angled towards the cockpit in that way?
unless you like looking at yourself???

Really nice looking build, but maybe a couple of things to check.
The front indicators may be too close to the nose cone. I forget the actual distance, might be 400mm from outside of car.
The upper harness mounts could cause problems as the harness rises up to the slots in the seats. I failed on that and mine were lower.
Check for radiuses on the front steering and suspension components as your indicators aren't mounted on extension arms.
Also the ally plate you have used to trim along the inner edge of the cockpit. Is the radius ok?
Plus the mirrors and front arches have been mentioned already.

Front indicators to far inboard max 400 from widest part of vehicle. Rear eflectors (presume that's them either side of no plate????) Also need
to be no more than 400mm from widest point which will be the rear arches.
chequer plate trim on the sides may be a problem the bars can be quite sharp/abrasive.
And when you move your fog keep it a min of 100 mm from the brake light.
trim the seat holes where the belts come through.

Wing mirrors look too low - you ned to be able to see certain marks on the road behind you at certain distances and angles. They look far to low.
Look in my archive... pages from the SVA manual are there for the line layouts.
Front Mudguards - rear should be below the axle centre line, front should be forward of a vertical line from the frontmost part of the rim (not the
tyre).
Seatbelts through the hole in the seats. If they touch the side of the hole when beign worn the seat needs to be certificated to take the stress. Most
people take the belt out of the hole, and put them back after the SVA.
Front indicators do not appear to be less than 400mm inboard from the widest part of the car (usually the rear wing)
Are those rear reflectors big enough and I'm not sure if they need to be "E" marked or some sort of approval marking.
I am assuming this is going for a SVA and not an IVA.
Finally good luck with the test.

Whats hanging down from the gearstick?
if its not been SVAd yet, why has it already got a number plate on it?
and fog light seems to be tucked away?
if its not, and its actually very slimline, where did you get it from?
Things i noticed are:
Screw in middle of dash radius
No trim round front wheel arch (radius)
Wheel arch position (already mentioned)
Is the rear view mirror suctioned on? If so they might not like it IE they might deem it removable and test it with it removed.....
and yes, how has it got it's registration plate before SVA?!?!?
Thanks for all the replies so far guys, I'll be in the garage on Thursday next so will aim to put some of these things right. At the risk of sounding really stupid, as I used a single donor car for my build I was under the impression that I could use that car's identity. Have I got the wrong end of the stick???
nope, its up to the inspector if you can keep the reg plate on the car. so you'll take it to SVA with no plates, he'll tell you you can use
the donors reg, then you put them back on. (i think)
coz at the moment, that reg still belongs to (presumably) a sierra, and driving a 7 with its plates would be illegal
