Had an evening at brands today,
Went really well, had a spin into the kitty litter at clearways trying to find the limit of the 888r
I need a quick rack as the standard one is useless on the track.
I was hitting 125 down the main straight, brakes, handling was really good.
Takes a bit of time to get use to the gears, at first i was driving only using 5th and 6h as there is so much torque.
Throttle cable snapped in the last 20mins
think the solderless nipple had come off.
Just need to remove all the gravel from the car now

so what was the limit of the 888's seems that you went past it at least once
that's fast down the straight. I was hitting just under a tonne in my r1 but lapping in the 57s. Not sure how well my speedo reads but didn't use 6th

How were they for noise, I want to go but have been scared off in case I get a refusal at the starting line.
Cheers Mark
nice one spence, hoping to track mine soon.
Nice one. Sounds like you had a good time
Noise is fine, 102 is there limit and I was 98db but they only asked for 5500 for the test. I had mad up a baffle thing to reduce the noise just in
case, it sounded the nuts down the straight like a F1
Very jealous! Im desperate to get mine on track its been at MAC1's for 2 1/2 months :-(
The noise thing worried me a bit too. I wanna see what the 888's feel like on track. Road grip is amazing
Only been round Indy on road bikes best laps with semi slicks were high 54's and sport road rubber 57's
Hoping under a minute in my lil old school blade engine
ready for a blast
dirty rear wheel was from the trip into clearways kitty litter ( still got stones rattling)
Bit gutted that my mate got a bit excited and didn't take any action shots.
Video clip below of my friend flat out down the straight, just before the throttle went lol

Sounds lovely. Noticed you were close to the right on the straight - for extra noise!
Next one Im doing too!
The straight is really a bend so the best line is on the right, straight lining and all that ( but it does help the sound for the video
)
Im was hoping to book brands for the 30th june but over heating and other things so giving that a miss.
Looking at july 21 evening open pit lane again.
Im after a small video camera next time, im looking at one of those cheap one from china, that take a memory card ( no moving parts/tapes )
I have one of those ATC2000 action SD cams. Has a 2GB SD and records upto 640x480. Your more than welcome to use it. I personally think Id be better
off using my mobile camera! Quality on the ATC is quite good but sound isent tbh.
Ill book up Brands for July 21st. Could poss do end of this month too hmm...
booked for 21st july again, for another evening session
Hopefully I will have my GSXR Mac 1 by then. I may come down to watch. I would of only had it three days by then so I AM NOT TRACKING IT!!!

fantastic,
defiantly see you there then,
What time is the evening session tomorrow Spence?
5pm till 8pm?
Yep 5 - 8
Weather held off in the end, and had a really good session, managed to push it quite hard and get into 55 seconds with still more to come.
18psi in the tyres made a massive difference.
No real major problems,
1) oil leek from the bottom breather - to much oil in sump/over filled
2) Rivets in the drivers floor below the seat have gone and the floor / seat became loose (which was fun through paddock bend
) need to rivet
every inch rather than every 3.
Few nice motors out today, a lambo, a lotus eleven & exige's, handful of 7's, porsche's, scooby's, evo's, RS4 & RS6,
Merc CLK AMG thing and a corsa which was quick very quick down the straight but brakes 300 meters before the bends
55 sec laptimes are quick! You must've been motoring it!
The Rivet thing would've freaked me out though. Great you had a good day though. I run 18psi as well but on road. Do you keep same on track?
It was a 55.96 so more like a 56 but every bit counts, yep 18psi all the time, i dont really use it on the road.
Ive booked another evening at brands 10/09
Another good evening yesterday, very busy on the track this time, dont think i got 1 clear lap, but did spend most of the time blasting past
everthing, some nice cars out there to show up.
Ferrari 430 scudria, porsche 977 boxter 'S', TVR owners club, wail tail cossie, jaguar was there with there 2010 range of XKRs and XJRs V8
suoercharged cars taking out customers.
Was funny seeing it being towed back to the pits in limp mode.
Best bit was being asked by a women to be given a ride as my car look the most fun/quickest nearly didn't get my big head in my helmet lol
No videos this time as my nice new camera with remote microphone had to stay in the box ( my bracket which was clamped to the roll cage &
diagional got scared and rattled loose and never came back

fingers crossed no one hit/ran over it.
